Showcasing Thai Heritage through the International Kite Festival
มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพาผลักดันแผนทะนุบำรุงศิลปวัฒนธรรม สืบสานมรดกภูมิปัญญาไทยผ่านเทศกาลว่าวนานาชาติ
เมื่อวันที่ 11 มีนาคม 2568 ผศ. ดร.สวามินี ธีระวุฒิ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายแผนยุทธศาสตร์ และนโยบาย มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานมอบรางวัลการแข่งขันว่าวไทย ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกิจกรรมการแสดงว่าวยักษ์นานาชาติ Inflatable Kite “ล่องลมชมเสน่ห์ วิถีว่าวไทย” ภายใต้โครงการ “บางแสนแกลเลอรี่: เสพศิลป์บางแสน” ครั้งที่ 4
กิจกรรมนี้สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของมหาวิทยาลัยบูรพาในการสืบสาน รักษา และต่อยอดมรดกภูมิปัญญาทางวัฒนธรรมไทย โดยใช้ศิลปะว่าวเป็นสื่อกลางในการอนุรักษ์วัฒนธรรมและเชื่อมโยงกับเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ ทั้งยังสนับสนุนให้ชุมชนมีส่วนร่วมในกระบวนการเรียนรู้ และส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรม
นอกจากนี้ โครงการยังสอดคล้องกับเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (SDGs) โดยเฉพาะเป้าหมายที่ 11 “เมืองและชุมชนที่ยั่งยืน” ซึ่งเน้นการอนุรักษ์มรดกทางวัฒนธรรมและพัฒนาพื้นที่สร้างสรรค์ให้เป็นทรัพยากรสำคัญสำหรับชุมชน ภายใต้แนวคิดนี้ มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพาได้เปิดพื้นที่ให้ศิลปินและนักสร้างสรรค์นำเสนอผลงานที่สะท้อนอัตลักษณ์ของเมืองบางแสนและบริบทวัฒนธรรมของภาคตะวันออก
“ลมแห่งศิลป์บินไกล ว่าวนานาชาติ 2025” ถือเป็นหนึ่งในกิจกรรมสำคัญที่ช่วยผลักดันให้บางแสนเป็นศูนย์กลางของศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัย ตลอดจนกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจในท้องถิ่นผ่านการใช้ทุนทางศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมอย่างสร้างสรรค์

Burapha University Drives Cultural Preservation Plan, Showcasing Thai Heritage through the International Kite Festival
On March 11, 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Sawaminee Theerawut, Vice President for Planning and Strategy at Burapha University, presided over the award ceremony for the Thai Kite Competition, a key event in the Inflatable Kite Show: “Drifting on the Wind: Admiring the Charm of Thai Kite Culture”. This event was part of the 4th edition of “Bangsaen Gallery: Art Indulgence Bangsaen”.
This initiative reflects Burapha University’s commitment to preserving, promoting, and advancing Thailand’s rich cultural heritage. By using kite artistry as a medium, the event not only supports cultural conservation but also bridges tradition with the creative economy. Moreover, it encourages community engagement in learning processes while fostering cultural tourism.
Additionally, the project aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, which emphasizes the preservation of cultural heritage and the development of creative spaces as valuable community resources. Under this vision, Burapha University has provided a platform for artists and creative practitioners to showcase works that reflect Bangsaen’s identity and the cultural landscape of Eastern Thailand.
“Drifting on the Wind: Admiring the Charm of Thai Kite Culture” is a flagship event that positions Bangsaen as a hub of contemporary arts and culture, while also driving the local economy through the creative utilization of cultural assets.
